[hold fast our hope.]

we can spend ages
spinning in the darkness
when there is no diagnosis
trapped and deflated
with no obvious forecast

we can’t lift the fog
the wind won’t hear our voices

imperceptible forces
driving us forwards
are we masters of our own fate?
or subject to a story we can’t change?

could it be better to rest
and stop wrestling with what we can’t control?

the dawn is slowly coming
the waves are soon subsiding
if we hold fast our hope
stand tall in the throes
if we hold fast our hope
if we hold fast our hope
if we
hold fast
our hope
